A system you shouldn’t use
The webcomic is a format I’ve long considered, but really not explored much before. Sure, a picture can spell a thousand words, but in the world of politics and culture, comics can reduce issues to very simplistic terms.
But the nature of the beast means that things are consumed quickly before being discarded. Things move quickly, and while a webcomic would take extra time over, say, a blog post, the message would resonate more, and spread quicker.
Of course, writing a blog post beneath a comic to explain the punchline would also ruin the impact of the message – and be indicative of poor writing on my part, so I’ll endeavour to not do that.
Anyway, here’s to a new direction. Let’s hope it works.
